Historique :	May très célèbre. Roger de Piles en 1699 écrit : 'De tous [les] ouvrages [de Blanchard], celuy qui a le plus soutenu sa réputation, c'est le tableau qu'il fit à Nôtre-Dame pour le premier de May. Il représente la Descente du Saint Esprit et cette Eglise le conserve chèrement comme le plus beau de tous les Tableaux que l'on y voit' p464. Anciennement placé dans la sacristie des messes. Anciennement daté de 1634 (J. Thuillier, 1998). Toile offerte par la confrérie des orfèvres. Après son exposition à la Sorbonne, le tableau est installé dans la chapelle des fonts baptismaux (1947).
